MSC Cruises has canceled a sailing on the MSC Poesia, set to depart from Southampton, UK, on February 13, 2026. The cruise, which was scheduled to embark on a Mediterranean voyage, has been canceled due to 'operational reasons'. This decision comes as the MSC Poesia concludes its winter season in Northern Europe and prepares for a repositioning journey to the Mediterranean. The ten-night cruise would have taken passengers through Spain, Portugal, and Italy, concluding in Valletta, Malta. MSC expressed regret for the cancellation, understanding the effort and anticipation involved in planning the trip. They assured guests that a full refund of the fare paid will be processed, and any proven out-of-pocket expenses related to the canceled cruise, including flights, will also be refunded. As a gesture of goodwill, MSC is offering a Future Cruise Credit worth 50% of the cruise fare paid for the canceled sailing. The MSC Poesia is currently sailing in Northern Europe, offering seven-night cruises to England, Germany, the Netherlands, France, and Belgium. This vessel, with a capacity for 2,550 guests, is set to undergo a major refurbishment project, becoming the next ship in the Musica-class series to receive new features like the MSC Yacht Club. The ship will enter drydock at the Palumbo Shipyard in Malta, following the MSC Magnifica, to enhance its amenities. In 2026, the MSC Poesia will make its debut in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, marking a significant expansion for the cruise line.
