Wally's approach is all about empowerment: helping students find their voice and ensuring it resonates.

From rock to pop, alt-country to hip hop, their sound is a true representation of their diverse backgrounds and interests. Singer Sorcha Friel describes their songs as "either having a great message or just being a bit silly."
"We're not your typical break-up ballad band," she jokes. "Our songs are unique and fun."

Songwriting is at the heart of Renegade Zoo's creative process. DM, who had little experience in songwriting before joining the band, finds the process liberating. She explains how the lyrics flow naturally, allowing her to express herself freely.
"It's a powerful way to communicate and connect with others," she adds.
Singer and percussionist SJ also thrives in the songwriting process, enjoying the spontaneity and collaboration it brings. She describes how songs often emerge organically during rehearsals, with guitar riffs and melodies building into full-fledged tracks.
Performing and the Future
Renegade Zoo's debut album, "Eyes on the Road," launched earlier this year, marking a significant milestone. The band's live performances, including at the Foyle Maritime Festival and Stendhal Festival, have been highlights, with SJ noting that the bigger the crowd, the better.
As they look ahead, the band's members have varied aspirations. DM dreams of a UK tour, while SJ suggests a Northern Ireland tour as a realistic goal. Sorcha, on the other hand, keeps it simple: "More new songs, more of us being ourselves."
